Well, what can I write about the New Westminster teams of 2002, The times are changing and its probably time for some changes in the New West organization as well. I think it's time for a new group to step forward and take charge. We need more younger players if we hope to compete in the A or B divisions and we need more people committed to keeping the New West name alive. Other than keeping the website updated, I won't be involved in the management or the daily operation of the organization as of now. We have a lot of good people, now they need to step forward.
The tournament in Ladner has got to be the worst in the number of lopsided scores that I have ever been involved in or watched. It was still a lot of fun for the new, first time players that came out. They got to play and run and see first hand what a great game lacrosse is, even when you're over 45. Even us guys with one bad leg had a great time (after our games were over). As always, we mention the rookies, Tony Glavin, Jim Willms, Ed Stackhouse, Jack Loftus who all had great weekends, even if it is harder to keep up each year, Hey Jack. I won't bother going into any scoring details as I can't seem to remember any. O well we did get to play on Sunday in the Sportsman division and that was the dream of everyone on the team. So all I can say is that I hope to see everyone from this year plus the new guys that will want to try the game for the first time next year at next year's tournament in Port Coquitlam.

THE CANADA WEST FIELD TEAM, winning silver in Australia, now that is a story! What a difference 4 years and a few good players make. The only question is "would I have made a difference if I could have played. We'll never know, thank goodness. To all the guys that went, great job! and I'm still waiting to hear the rest of the stories. The players, Dean Johnson, Jim Aicheson,Bill Clapperton, Bob McNeney, Al Sleightholme, Ken MacDonald, Arron Jamison, Bill Mosdell, Dave Stark, Vern Baker, Barry Bolton, Bob Tasker, Lance Baker, Mike Miller and I also heard Jody Weatherbee was on the team.
