In 1994 the New Westminster Masters were back in Port Coquitlam. From the start, the NW Masters Lacrosse
Club has always brought in new players to the game of lacrosse. Getting people involved in learn the game and getting
people out to play who have never played before, has been at the forefront of expanding the New Westminster Masters. In
Port Coquitlam we were moved to the "C" division because with our new players, that is where we belonged. This was the
year we picked up a "Ball Hockey?" player who said he would love to be our goalie, so we let him. Dean, (our goalie)
picked up 3 assists that week-end. We also picked up the most sportsman like team award, which no one really cared
about because we didn't get into the finals. I still have the award on my mantle. Other hi-lights included Trent Welters
picking up his first point ever, Brian Pederson had a good weekend along with Wayne Bellwood, picking up 8 points each.
Joe O'Malley had a good tourny with 6 points and a quiet, mild mannered Brian Simpson also got into the record book for
New West. Not only did he play well, he was also our first player to get ejected from a game with 3 penalties, the last
one for fighting, which to this day he says he didn't start. Randy Fletcher got his first ever goal this year.
